Overview
Netophah was a village in the territory of Benjamin, located near Bethlehem. After the Babylonian exile, inhabitants of this town were among those who returned to rebuild Jerusalem and restore worship in the temple.
Key Scriptures
"The men of Netophah, fifty-six" (Ezra 2:22, ESV). "The men of Netophah, one hundred and twenty-eight" (Nehemiah 7:26, NASB). Both passages list Netophah among the towns whose residents participated in the return from exile under Zerubbabel's leadership.
Application
Netophah reminds us that God's restoration includes ordinary people from small places, encouraging us that our humble participation in God's work matters in His kingdom purposes.
