Overview
Nekeb was a city located within the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali in northern Canaan. The name appears in Joshua's account of the division of the Promised Land among the twelve tribes. As a boundary marker and settlement point, Nekeb represented God's faithful fulfillment of His covenant promises to distribute the land to His people according to their tribal divisions.
Key Scriptures
"The sixth lot came out for Naphtali, for the sons of Naphtali according to their families. Their border was from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and it ended at the Jordan" (Joshua 19:32-34, NASB).
Application
Nekeb reminds us that God precisely fulfills His promises and knows every detail of His plan for His people, establishing us in our rightful inheritance through Christ.
