Overview
Ludim (also spelled Ludites) were descendants of Lud, son of Shem, listed in the Table of Nations in Genesis. They appear to represent an ancient people group in the Near East, though their exact historical location remains debated by scholars. The limited biblical references suggest they were known to the Hebrew writers as a distinct people.

"The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram" (Genesis 10:22, ESV).
