Overview
In Scripture, kedemah and related forms (???) denote both physical direction—eastward—and the concept of antiquity or what is 'before' in time. The eastern direction held spiritual significance as the location of Eden (Genesis 2:8) and the direction from which God's glory returns (Ezekiel 43:2). This term emphasizes God's eternal nature and His positioning as the source of blessing.
