Jamin

Jamin was a son of Simeon in the Old Testament, listed among the founding tribes of Israel. He represents one of the twelve tribes through his descendants.

Overview

Jamin was one of the sons of Simeon, Jacob's second son by Leah, and became the founder of the Jaminite clan within the tribe of Simeon. Though rarely mentioned individually in Scripture, Jamin's lineage represents part of God's covenant people and the tribal structure of Israel.

Key Scriptures

"The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman; these are the families of Simeon" (Genesis 46:10, ESV).

"And the sons of Simeon according to their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites" (Numbers 26:12, ESV).

Application

Jamin's inclusion in the genealogical records reminds us that God remembers and values each member of His covenant community, however obscure their individual stories may seem to us.
