Overview
The harp appears throughout Scripture as an instrument of worship and celebration before God. From David's use of the harp to soothe King Saul to the heavenly worship depicted in Revelation, harps consistently symbolize praise, joy, and intimate communion with the Lord. The harp represents the human heart tuned to worship God.
Key Scriptures
"Praise the LORD with the harp; make melody to him with an instrument of ten strings" (Psalm 33:2, ESV).
"And when the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them" (Revelation 8:1, ESV). In Revelation 5:8, the elders hold harps while singing a new song to the Lamb.
