Overview
Paul uses the image of an olive tree to explain God's plan of salvation for both Jews and Gentiles. Unbelieving Jewish branches were broken off from the tree, and believing Gentiles were grafted in as wild olive branches. This grafting demonstrates God's sovereignty, mercy, and the continuation of His covenant promises through faith in Christ rather than ethnic privilege alone.
