Gamul

Gamul was the 22nd priestly division established by David to serve in the temple, representing the systematic organization of Israel's priesthood for worship and service to God.

Overview

Gamul served as the head of the 22nd division of priests appointed by King David. These divisions ensured that priestly duties in the temple were distributed fairly and continuously throughout the year, allowing each division to serve in rotation.

Key Scriptures

"These also cast lots equally with their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of King David and Zadok and Ahimelech and the heads of the fathers' houses of the priests and of the Levites." (1 Chronicles 24:31, ESV)

"The twenty-second lot fell to Gamul, the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah." (1 Chronicles 24:17, ESV)

Application

Gamul's assignment reminds us that God values order, faithful service, and giving each believer their place in His work of worship and ministry.
