SYN'TYCHE (event), a female member of the church at Philippi who is exhorted by Paul to be reconciled with Euodia (incorrectly "Euodias"). Those who maintain there was an order of deaconesses in the apostolic Church consider that these women were members of it, and consequently their difference was censurable. Phil 4:2.
