Tower of fortune, a town in the plains of Judah, probably the modern el-Mejdel, a little to the north-east of Ascalon (Josh. 15:37).

MIG'DAL-GAD (tower of God), a town of Judah, near Lachish, Josh 15:37-39; now Mejdel, a prosperous village of 1500 inhabitants, 2 miles east of Ascalon. It is surrounded by olive trees and cultivated fields. Its houses are well built, its streets dirty. Broken columns, hewn stones, and other ancient ruins are found there.
