Dr. Robinson suggests that Jiphthah-el was identical with Jotapata, the fortress which Josephus defended and where he was captured, and that they survive in the modern Jefat, a village in the mountains, 15 miles west of the Lake of Galilee, and halfway between the Bay of Acre and the lake.
