IT'ALY, a well-known country in the south of Europe, and including the whole of the peninsula west of the Adriatic Sea. It has an area of about 100,000 square miles and a population of over 25,000,000. T. only three times: (1) as the country from which Aquila and Priscilla were expelled. Acts 18:2; (2) Paul sailed for Italy, Acts 27:1; and (3) in the Epistle to the Hebrews some of that country joined in the salutations sent. Heb 13:24.
