Hastings' Dictionary of the Bible (1898)
HO'RITES, HO'RIMS. These were the aboriginal inhabitants of Mount Seir, Gen 14:6, from which they were driven by the descendants of Esau, Deut 2:12, Num 2:22. The term means a "cave," and probably indicates the character of this people's habitations.
