Easton's Bible Dictionary (1897)
A place in Assyria from which colonies were brought to Samaria (2 Kings 17:24). It is probably the same with Ivah (18:34; 19:13; Isa. 37:13). It has been identified with Hit on the Euphrates.

(ruin), a place in the empire of Assyria, apparently the same as Ivan.

A'VA (ruin). Rawlinson would identify it with Hit, on the Euphrates; probably it is the same as Ahava and Ivah. 2 Kgs 17:24.
