Aziel, also called Jaaziel in some manuscripts, was a Levite "second rank" musician appointed by David. He played the harp (or lyre) as part of the musical procession led by Obed-Edom and Jeiel. The musicians played loudly with songs of joy as David danced before the Lord. Aziel's role is mentioned only once but places him among the early worship organizers of Israel who established the pattern for Temple music.
