Aquila and his wife Priscilla had recently come to Corinth from Italy when the Emperor Claudius expelled all Jews from Rome. Paul stayed with them and worked alongside them as tentmakers. The couple later traveled to Ephesus with Paul, where they instructed Apollos more accurately in the faith. They hosted a church in their home and risked their lives for Paul. Paul called them his "fellow workers in Christ Jesus." In his final letter, Paul sent greetings to the couple, who had returned to Rome.
