Apollos was learned in the Scriptures and taught accurately about Jesus, though initially he knew only the baptism of John. Priscilla and Aquila took him aside and explained the way of God more fully. He then traveled to Achaia (Corinth), where he greatly helped believers and powerfully refuted Jewish opponents, showing from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. Some Corinthians later divided themselves into factions claiming to follow Apollos versus Paul, though both men rejected such divisions.
