Similarly, when the centurion's servant lay paralyzed at home, Jesus did not need to visit the house. "Jesus said to the centurion, 'Go! As you have believed, so it will be done for you.' In another account, Jesus encountered a woman with a bleeding disorder who had suffered for twelve years and spent all her money on physicians. "He turned and saw her. 'Take courage, daughter,' He said. 'Your faith has healed you.' And the woman was healed from that very moment." Matthew 9:22 BSB.
Jesus also raised the dead, demonstrating authority over the ultimate consequence of disease and sin. When Jairus's daughter died, Jesus said to her, "Talitha koum! (which means, 'Little girl, I say to you, get up!')." Mark 5:41 BSB. The girl immediately rose and walked. These accounts reveal that disease and death itself yielded to the authority of Christ without resistance or delay.

Christians should follow Christ's example by demonstrating compassion toward the suffering and by praying boldly for healing, knowing that "we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him." 1 John 3:21-22 BSB.
