Sippai

Sippai was a giant from Gath who was slain by Hubbah (or Sibbecai) during David's reign. He represents God's faithfulness in granting victory over seemingly insurmountable enemies.

Overview

Sippai (also called Saph in 2 Samuel 21:18) was a Philistine giant descended from the giants of Gath. He was defeated during one of David's military campaigns, demonstrating God's continued protection over Israel and the fulfillment of His promises to David.

"And it happened afterward that there was again a battle with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph, who was one of the descendants of the giants." (2 Samuel 21:18, NASB)

Application

Just as God empowered David's warriors to overcome giants, believers can trust that God provides strength to overcome seemingly impossible spiritual obstacles through faith in Christ.
