Sardites, Family of

The Sardites were a family descended from Sard, son of Judah, and are mentioned in the census of Israel taken in the wilderness. They represent one of the tribal divisions recorded during Israel's wilderness wandering.

Overview

The Sardites were a family clan within the tribe of Judah, descended from Sard, the son of Judah and grandson of Jacob. They are recorded in the second census of Israel taken by Moses and Eleazar the priest in the plains of Moab, demonstrating the organized genealogical structure of God's covenant people as they prepared to enter the Promised Land.

Key Scriptures

"These are the families of Judah according to their number: 76,500" (Numbers 26:22, ESV). The Sardites are listed among these numbered families in the census record (Numbers 26:26).

Application
