Overview
Ozem was one of the sons of Jesse, the father of King David. He is mentioned in the genealogical records of 1 Chronicles as part of David's immediate family. While little is known about Ozem personally, his inclusion in Scripture reminds us that God's purposes often work through ordinary family members and that faithful lineages matter in God's economy.
Key Scriptures
"Jesse fathered Eliab his firstborn, and Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third, Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, Ozem the sixth, and David the seventh" (1 Chronicles 2:13-14, ESV).
"The sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron: Ram, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah" (1 Chronicles 2:25, ESV).
Application
Though Ozem's name appears only briefly in Scripture, his life illustrates how God values each person in His divine plan, whether they receive prominence or remain in the background of His unfolding story.
