Overview
Magor-Missabib represents God's judgment against those who resist His word and persecute His messengers. Pashhur, a chief officer in the temple, struck Jeremiah and put him in stocks for prophesying judgment against Jerusalem. In response, God changed Pashhur's name to Magor-Missabib, symbolizing the terror and destruction that would come upon him and the nation.
