Legislation

Legislation Return refers to the biblical principle that what is sown will be reaped, and that God's Word returns to Him having accomplished His purposes. This concept applies to understanding how God's commands and principles work in society and individual lives.

Overview

The principle of return is foundational to Scripture—God's Word does not return to Him empty but accomplishes what He purposes (Isaiah 55:11). Similarly, the law of sowing and reaping demonstrates that actions produce consequences in accordance with God's design (Galatians 6:7-8). When legislation aligns with biblical principles, it reflects God's moral order; when it contradicts Scripture, it produces harmful social consequences.

Key Scriptures

"So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11, ESV).

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap" (Galatians 6:7, ESV).

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!" (Psalm 33:12, ESV).

Application

Christians should advocate for legislation reflecting biblical moral principles, understanding that societies reap the consequences of laws that either honor or contradict God's Word.
