Overview
When David fled from Saul, he came to Keilah and inquired of the Lord whether he should stay in the city. Though the people of Keilah were initially grateful for David's deliverance of their city from the Philistines, God revealed that they would eventually hand David over to Saul. This prompted David's immediate departure and illustrated how God provides supernatural knowledge to protect His people from hidden dangers.
Key Scriptures
"Then David said, 'Will the men of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?' And the Lord said, 'They will surrender you.'" (1 Samuel 23:12, ESV)
"So David and his men, about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah, and they went wherever they could go." (1 Samuel 23:13, ESV)
Application
When facing uncertainty about relationships or situations, seek God's wisdom through prayer and His Word rather than relying on human reassurance alone, trusting Him to guide you away from potential harm.
