The return of Christ (often called the Second Coming or Parousia) is the promised future event when Jesus will return to earth in glory to judge all people and establish His eternal kingdom.

Overview

Jesus Christ ascended to heaven after His resurrection but promised His followers that He would return. This return will be visible, sudden, and glorious, marked by the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the renewal of all things. It is one of Christianity's central hopes and motivates believers to live faithfully.

Key Scriptures

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, ESV).

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne" (Matthew 25:31, NIV).
