Jesiah

Jesus Christ's return is His promised second coming to earth to judge all people, resurrect the dead, and establish His eternal kingdom. This foundational Christian hope motivates holy living and evangelism.

Overview

Jesus explicitly promised His disciples that He would return (John 14:3). This return will be visible, bodily, and sudden—occurring when least expected (Matthew 24:36-44). Christ will come to raise the dead, judge all humanity, and usher believers into eternity with Him while condemning the unrepentant to judgment.

Key Scriptures

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, ESV).

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations" (Matthew 25:31-32, ESV).

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philippians 3:20, ESV).

Application

Since Christ's return is certain but the timing unknown, believers should live in daily readiness, growing in faith and sharing the gospel with urgency.
