Overview
Jared was the fourth generation descendant of Adam and lived during the antediluvian period before the flood. He fathered Enoch at age 162 and lived a total of 962 years. Though little is recorded of his personal life or spiritual state, Jared's significance lies in his place within the line of faithful patriarchs that preserved God's covenant promise through the generations leading to Noah and eventually Christ.
