Overview
Jesus promised His disciples that He would return to earth, a truth emphasized throughout the New Testament. This return will be literal, visible, and glorious, marking the culmination of God's redemptive plan and the end of human history as we know it.
Key Scriptures
"Jesus said to them, 'Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel'" (Matthew 19:28, NASB).
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NASB).
"Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him" (Revelation 1:7, NASB).
Application
Live with readiness and holy conduct, recognizing that Christ's return should motivate personal holiness and faithful witness to others.
