The return of Christ (often called the Second Coming or Parousia) is the promised future event when Jesus will return to earth in glory to judge all people and establish His eternal kingdom.

Overview

Jesus Christ's return is a foundational Christian doctrine affirmed throughout the New Testament. At His return, Christ will judge the living and the dead, believers will be transformed, and God's kingdom will be fully realized. This hope motivates holy living and endurance through suffering.

Key Scriptures

"Jesus said to them, 'Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.'" (Matthew 19:28, NASB)

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first." (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NASB)

"Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near." (Revelation 1:3, ESV)

Application

Live in readiness for Christ's return by pursuing holiness, sharing the Gospel, and maintaining hope in His promised return.
