Overview
Ithamar was Aaron's youngest son who, along with his three brothers, was set apart for priestly service (Exodus 28:1). After the death of his older brothers Nadab and Abihu (Leviticus 10:1-2), Ithamar and Eleazar continued the priestly line. Under King David's reign, the priests were organized into 24 divisions, with Ithamar's descendants receiving specific assignments for tabernacle service.
