Overview
After the Babylonian captivity (586 BC), God orchestrated the return of Jewish exiles in stages, beginning with Zerubbabel's leadership around 538 BC and continuing with Ezra's arrival around 458 BC. This restoration involved rebuilding the temple, reestablishing worship, and renewing the covenant community, fulfilling Isaiah's and Jeremiah's prophecies of divine restoration.
