The Return of Christ (often called His 'Second Coming') is the literal, physical return of Jesus to earth, a foundational Christian hope affirmed throughout Scripture.

Overview

Jesus promised His disciples that He would return to earth (John 14:3). This return will be visible, glorious, and will culminate in the final judgment and establishment of God's eternal kingdom. All believers are called to live in anticipation of this event.

Key Scriptures

"Now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known" (1 Corinthians 13:12, NIV).

"After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:17, NIV).

"Jesus said, 'I am coming soon. My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done'" (Revelation 22:12, NIV).

Application

Live in readiness for Christ's return by pursuing holiness, sharing the Gospel, and fixing your hope on eternity rather than temporal concerns.
