God's return refers to Christ's second coming when He will judge the living and the dead and establish His eternal kingdom. This foundational Christian doctrine calls believers to live in readiness and holiness.

Overview

Jesus Christ, who ascended to heaven after His resurrection, will physically return to earth. This return will be visible, personal, and unmistakable, bringing history to its consummation and initiating the final judgment and eternal state.

Key Scriptures

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am" (John 14:3, NIV).

"After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:17, NIV).

"Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him" (Hebrews 9:27-28, NIV).

Application

Live in daily awareness of Christ's return, pursuing holiness and sharing the gospel with urgency.
