Hermes

Hermes' return refers to the second coming of Christ, when Jesus will return to earth to judge the living and the dead. This foundational Christian doctrine emphasizes Christ's future physical return and the consummation of God's redemptive plan.

Overview

The return of Christ, often called the Second Coming or Parousia, is a central promise of the New Testament. Jesus promised His disciples that He would come again, and the apostles taught that believers should live in anticipation of this glorious event when Christ will return visibly and bodily to earth.

Key Scriptures

"Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11, ESV).

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, ESV).

"Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him" (Revelation 1:7, ESV).

Application

Living in light of Christ's promised return should motivate believers toward holiness, evangelism, and faithful service as we await His return.
