The return of Christ is His promised second coming to judge the world, resurrect believers, and establish His eternal kingdom. This foundational doctrine assures Christians of Christ's victory and their ultimate redemption.

Overview

Jesus Christ promised His disciples that He would return to earth (John 14:3). This future event, called the Second Coming or the Return of Christ, is central to Christian hope and eschatology. Christ will return visibly and bodily to judge all people, gather His elect, and consummate His kingdom.

Key Scriptures

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me" (John 14:3, NIV).

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NIV).

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne" (Matthew 25:31, NIV).

Application

Christians should live in holy anticipation of Christ's return, maintaining faithful obedience and sharing the Gospel urgently while we await His coming.
