Helm

The helm return refers to Christ's return to earth to judge all people and establish His eternal kingdom. This foundational Christian doctrine affirms Jesus's promise to return and completes God's redemptive plan.

Overview

Christ's return, often called the Second Coming or Parousia, is the literal, personal, and visible return of Jesus to earth. Scripture promises this return will be sudden and accompanied by judgment of all people—believers and unbelievers alike—with believers entering eternal glory and unbelievers facing eternal separation from God.

Key Scriptures

"Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11, ESV).

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, ESV).

"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations" (Matthew 25:31-32, ESV).

Application

Live in readiness and holiness, knowing Christ's return is certain and may occur at any moment.
