Overview
Hazar-Susah (meaning "village of horses") was one of the cities assigned to the tribe of Simeon within Judah's inheritance (Joshua 19:5). As part of the division of the promised land under Joshua's leadership, this allocation demonstrated God's faithfulness in fulfilling His covenant promises to Israel.
Key Scriptures
"The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families, and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Judah. So they had for their inheritance Beersheba or Sheba and Moladah, and Hazar-Shual and Balah and Ezem" (Joshua 19:2-3, NASB).
"Thus the Lord gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and they possessed it and lived in it" (Joshua 21:43, NASB).
