Overview
Harbona served as one of the king's eunuchs and attendants in the Persian court during the reign of Ahasuerus. When Queen Esther revealed Haman's conspiracy to destroy all the Jews in the kingdom, Harbona provided crucial testimony by informing the king about the gallows that Haman had prepared for Mordecai. His intervention at this decisive moment helped secure justice and protection for God's people.
Key Scriptures
"Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said, 'A gallows fifty cubits high stands by Haman's house. He had it made for Mordecai, who spoke up to help the king.' The king said, 'Hang him on it!'" (Esther 7:9, NIV)
"So they hanged Haman on the gallows he had prepared for Mordecai" (Esther 7:10, ESV)
Application
Harbona's example reminds us to courageously speak truth when we witness injustice, trusting God to use our witness for His purposes and the protection of His people.
