Overview
Enoch walked with God in such intimacy that God took him directly to heaven without death. This extraordinary event demonstrates the power of faith and obedience, and prefigures the rapture of the church when believers will be caught up to meet the Lord.
Key Scriptures
"Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him" (Genesis 5:24, ESV). "By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God" (Hebrews 11:5, ESV). "So also it is written, 'The first man, Adam, became a living soul.' The last Adam became a life-giving spirit" (1 Corinthians 15:45, NASB).
Application
