Overview
Following the Babylonian captivity, God stirred the heart of King Cyrus to allow the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. Hadid was a town whose residents participated in this restoration, demonstrating God's faithfulness to His covenant promises and His commitment to restoring His people.
Key Scriptures
"Thus says Cyrus king of Persia: 'The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah'" (Ezra 1:2, ESV).
"And the people of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the returned exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy" (Ezra 6:16, ESV).
"The sons of Hadid, ninety-five" were among those who returned (Ezra 2:33, NASB).
Application
Remember that God's promises of restoration and redemption extend through history and into our lives today, calling us to trust His faithfulness even through seasons of exile from His presence.
