Overview
Scripture clearly teaches that Jesus Christ will return visibly and bodily to complete His redemptive work. This return is both a promise to believers and a warning to unbelievers, motivating holy living and urgent evangelism until that day.
Key Scriptures
"Jesus said to them, 'Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel'" (Matthew 19:28, NASB).
"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, NASB).
"'Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven'" (Acts 1:11, NASB).
Application
Living in light of Christ's return should purify your faith, deepen your obedience, and compel you to share the Gospel urgently with those who remain lost.
