Giddalti

Giddalti was one of the fourteen sons of Heman, a worship leader appointed by King David to serve in the tabernacle with music and song.

Overview

Giddalti is mentioned in 1 Chronicles 25 as one of Heman's sons who were set apart for the ministry of music in God's house. Though little is recorded about him individually, he represents the Levitical musicians who served faithfully in worship during David's reign, demonstrating how God used families in dedicated service to His temple.

Key Scriptures

"And the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth" (1 Chronicles 25:4, ESV).

"All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer, according to the promise of God to exalt him; for God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters" (1 Chronicles 25:5, ESV).

Application

Giddalti's inclusion in the genealogy of worship leaders reminds us that faithful service in God's kingdom, though sometimes unnoticed by others, is valued and remembered by our sovereign God.
