Overview
En-Shemesh was a spring located on the border between the territories of Judah and Benjamin (Joshua 15:7; 18:17). The name means "Spring of the Sun" in Hebrew. This geographical landmark served as a crucial boundary marker in the division of the Promised Land among Israel's tribes, demonstrating God's organized allocation of land to His people.
Key Scriptures

And the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the valley of Rephaim. Then the border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah" (Joshua 18:16, ESV).
"Then the border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of En-Shemesh and went out to En-Rogel" (Joshua 15:7, ESV).
