Overview
On the day of resurrection, Jesus joined two discouraged disciples walking to Emmaus. Though they didn't recognize Him, Jesus walked with them and "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself" (Luke 24:27, ESV). When they invited Him to stay and broke bread together, their eyes were opened and they recognized Him.
