Election

Election return refers to the future gathering of God's elect when Christ returns, fulfilling His promise to gather His chosen ones from all nations. This doctrine emphasizes God's sovereign plan to complete redemption at Christ's second coming.

Overview

Scripture teaches that Christ will return to gather all believers—those He has chosen and redeemed throughout history. This event completes God's redemptive plan and brings final judgment and eternal inheritance for the elect. The return of Christ marks the culmination of all things and the establishment of His eternal kingdom.

Key Scriptures

"And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matthew 24:31, ESV).

"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, ESV).

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is" (1 John 3:2, ESV).

Application

Live in anticipation of Christ's return by pursuing holiness and sharing the gospel with urgency, knowing that God will complete His redemptive purposes.
