Eladah

Eladah was a son of Shimei in the genealogy of Benjamin, representing the continuation of Israel's tribal lineage and God's faithfulness to His people through generations.

Overview

Eladah appears in the genealogical records of 1 Chronicles as a descendant of Benjamin through Shimei. While little is known about Eladah personally, his inclusion in Scripture demonstrates God's meticulous care in preserving the records of His covenant people and their family lines throughout Israel's history.

Key Scriptures

"The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei" (1 Chronicles 23:10, ESV). "And Eladah, and Eliphelet" (1 Chronicles 7:20, ESV), listed among Benjamin's descendants. "So all Israel was recorded in genealogies, and these are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel" (1 Chronicles 9:1, ESV).

Application

Eladah's presence in Scripture reminds believers that God knows and values each person in His family, whether their lives receive extensive biblical narrative or simple genealogical mention.
