Eglaim

Eglaim (also called En-eglaim) is a biblical location mentioned in prophecy as a place where fishermen will cast their nets, symbolizing restoration and future blessing. It represents God's promise of renewal and life returning to desolate places.

Overview

Eglaim appears in Ezekiel's prophecy concerning the Dead Sea region and the future healing of those waters. The name means "spring of two calves" and is situated on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea. This location features prominently in Ezekiel's vision of supernatural restoration, where toxic waters will become life-giving and teeming with fish.

Key Scriptures

"And it will come to pass that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi even to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many." (Ezekiel 47:10, ESV)

"From the wilderness and the Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, even to the Great Sea toward the west, shall be your territory." (Joshua 1:4, NASB)

Application

Meditate on how God's promises of restoration—whether spiritual renewal, healed relationships, or transformed circumstances—are as certain as His future transformation of the Dead Sea region.
